The Holy Spirit intercedes for us so that we can become more like Jesus. The Spirit prays for us so that in all situations, Father God will continue to work it out so that we will become more like Jesus and give Him glory as the firstborn in the family of God. Look at Colossians 1:13-18. Jesus is the firstborn from the dead and is above all! All glory goes to Him. And when we become like Him, all glory continues to go to Him! God changes us from glory to glory, from situation to situation, sanctifying us, making us holy, set apart from the world as His attributes are seen in us to give Him glory! Glory to God! God is working all things for the good for those who love God who are called according to His purpose to become conformed to the image of the Son. Wow! So that’s what it’s all about! When things work out for the good, the good means “that which conforms to the image of His Son.”
